Lil Jon replaces Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly, who was previously announced as the featured artist in July. According to KU’s press release, Nelly was removed “due to extenuating circumstances.”

Lil Jon, who won a Grammy for his hit song “Yeah!,” performed earlier this year with Usher during the halftime show at Super Bowl LVIII. He is known for producing hits such as “Turn Down for What” and “Get Low.”

Late Night is free to attend, but students and alumni must reserve tickets in advance. Students can begin reserving tickets on September 18, while alumni may do so starting September 24.

The event, part scrimmage and part entertainment in Allen Fieldhouse, will start at 6:30 p.m. and can be watched on ESPN+ as well as the KU Athletics website and Facebook page.
