Thrifting a popular shopping option for students

With the introduction of spring comes the need for students to update their wardrobe and bring out their springtime clothes. Along with this comes spring cleaning and getting rid of old clothing items. For some students, this process includes donating clothes they no longer wear to the local thrift stores here in Lawrence.

However, other students are looking for spring clothing, and between the lower prices and unique pieces, thrifting is a first choice for those looking for a wardrobe update. While curated thrift stores, such as Daisy Vintage, are becoming more popular, many students still choose traditional thrifting to save more money. Many also just enjoy the thrill of finding their own, unique pieces.

The two most popular thrift stores in Lawrence include Goodwill on 31st Street and Salvation Army on 23rd Street. Both of these thrift shops work to keep the prices fair and reasonable for students and local Lawrence thrifters. On top of the low prices and unique pieces, thrifting is also an environmentally friendly option to keep shopping more sustainable.
