On-campus jobs give students the ability to help pay for personal expenses, supplement financial aid, and gain valuable work experience. 

“I feel like one of my favorite things about my on-campus job is getting to meet people,” Fallon Cahill, senior student ambassador at KU said. “I really like that I have this revolving door of high-school students I can help on tours.”

Common jobs on campus include working in athletics, admissions, dining, maintenance, and recreation. 

While some students like Cahill enjoy meeting new people and earning extra income, other students take on-campus jobs to bolster their work experience. 

“My major is exercise science, and there’s a lot to be learned running a facility like this,” Sheldon Murhpy, junior recreation center worker said. “There’s a variety of things I’ve learned on the job or honed working here, and those will be crucial later in my career.”

Working on-campus permits students flexibility, convenience, and comfort as they can set their own work hours and don’t have to commute off-campus. 

KU’s campus is ripe with countless opportunities and many students take advantage of the variety of options.
