Kansas volleyball swept the Lipscomb Bison on Sept. 15. This is the third meeting in a row that the Jayhawks have defeated the Bison 3-0.

Senior outside hitter Ayah Elnady was an outstanding part of the team that day as she led the Jayhawks with 11 kills and 8 aces. Senior middle blocker Toyosi Onabanjo had an impressive game performance herself, also getting 11 kills and leading the Jayhawks with four blocks.
While this may have been an easy win for the Jayhawks, they’re prepared for their next matchup: undefeated Purdue. Coming off of a win against No. 10 Kentucky, Purdue looks to protect their own winning streak.
“I think it’s just a, it’s an opportunity for us to play against a great team from the Big 10. Perdue has got a lot of volleyball tradition, the conference has a lot of volleyball tradition so we’re glad it’s here on our home floor, but we know it will be a lot of work and we’ll be ready for it,” Head Coach Ray Bechard said.
Kansas expects to see fierce competition against the Boilermakers, but the Jayhawks won’t let that derail from their game plan.
“Just be disciplined because they’re gonna come in with lots of firepower underneath like making lots of plays so I think just being disciplined and not playing out of our character will be big,” Senior setter Camryn Turner said.
The Jayhawks will take on the Boilermakers at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena on Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
