Nine months into the construction process at Memorial Stadium and construction workers have put in over 4,000 hours phase one.
“We see you guys at five in the morning grinding, and all the way until nine at night,” Devin Neal, senior running back, said.
With 24/7 construction approval from the City of Lawrence, the Turner Construction team has worked non-stop since the following of the 2024 season to transform the stadium.
“Your guys’ work doesn’t go unnoticed and we appreciate everything you’ve done from the day we wrecked it all down and to now,” Neal said.
With a timetable for the team to return to play in their home stadium in August of 2025, phase two will begin in the next coming weeks.
“Phase two is gonna be even bigger and that is coming so stay tuned,” Douglas Girod, chancellor of the University of Kansas, said.
