Although Lie has been with the Jayhawks for a short time, his players have learned a lot from his teachings.

“I’ve learned a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever learned this much in my entire career of even playing high school, grade school, any of that so I think that’s been the coolest part,” junior forward Lexi Watts said.

With the commitment from his players, Lie looks to achieve one of the Jayhawk’s main goals for the season: qualifying for the Big 12 tournament held at the Current Stadium in Kansas City.

“I think that’s something that hasn’t happened every year for our older players and it’s where we want to start,” Lie saide. “We want every single game, we have 11 Big 12 games, to, to put our, to impose our will on the opponent to the greatest extent and I think our bet is that will pay off with some results too. ”

The Jayhawks have only one loss thus far in the season and they strive for improvement not only the rest of this season, but for years to come according to graduate midfielder Hallie Klanke.

“We’ve made a lot of progress but we know we still have a long ways to go and it’s just awesome to love the people you get to work with because it makes the hard things, even though the hard times are gonna come it makes those fun and just to know we have goals and places we want to get to which is really exciting,” Klanke said.
