For the second time this year, the national No Kings protest was held throughout the United States on Saturday, Oct. 18. People from all walks of life came together to protest President Donald Trump and his administration, specifically the alleged authoritarian approach in dealing with major issues in the country right now.
“I’m worried about the fact that in 2025, we still don’t accept everyone as they are,” Abbey said, who was protesting alongside her three-year-old daughter Bailey. “We need to not have a president who’s allowed to say that they shouldn’t be here, and to call them worthless trash.”
According to CNN, there were about 2,500 total protests across the country, which is about 450 more compared to the first protest on June 14.
“I am seriously worried about the loss of our democracy and the rise of oligarchy,” Jeff Richards said, who was protesting as well.
Protestors were also handing out flyers to support the 50-50-1 Movement. According to its website, it is “a grassroots effort focused on holding leaders accountable and advocating for democracy, fairness, and transparency in government.”
Only nine months into Trump’s second term in office, it doesn’t seem likely that these protests will end anytime soon.
