KU has brought the institute for policy and social research, the department of english and many more together to bring this opportunity to students and the public for free.
This series will cover everything from the media stereotypes among the sports ecosystem to how she writes such strong songs that hit different. They will also be teaching and educating the community about the variety of pop culture and how academia demonstrates this on a deeper level.
“We hope this series kind of models something that people can take away, which is, we need to look at events and issues through multiple perspectives and multiple disciplines,” one of the series speakers, Steve Bien-Aimé, said. “And appreciate that everyone has a lot of great value that they can bring to enhance our knowledge.”
The series will have six speakers. including Stephanie Burt from Harvard University who will serve as the series’ keynote speaker.
Her credentials include being a professor of English, poet, essayist and critic. Burt wrote an essay in the Atlantic about the importance of swift.
“We are just so excited to have so many people at KU and people from the wider academic community coming here to ku to share their knowledge with us,” Bien-Aimé said.
“Taylor, if you’re listening, we would love to have you come visit us at KU.”
The next lecture of the series will be Monday September 30 at 3:30 p.m. in Watson Library with the aforementioned keynote speaker Stephanie Burt.
