The University of Kansas baseball team hosts fan event, connecting players with the community

The University of Kansas baseball team partnered with The Good Game to host a “Meet the Players” event on Monday at Hoglund Ballpark.
The Good Game, a Lawrence-based platform, connects coaches, trainers, and organizations with parents and athletes, allowing them to interact more directly. The company also serves as an official NIL partner of Kansas Athletics, organizing events, camps, and private bookings to help athletes engage with the community while building their personal brands.
Organizers said events like this are designed to bring fans and players closer together.
“We’re out here giving KU baseball the opportunity to connect with the community,” said Riley Simpson, a representative from the organization. “Giving young fans a chance to interact with players on a deeper level than just sitting in the stands.”
Monday’s event featured autographs, Q&A sessions, and on-field activities that allowed kids to participate alongside players.
For the athletes, the experience was about more than baseball.
“For me, it’s huge just being able to give back to the kids,” outfielder Tyson Owens said. “They come out and support us, and this is a good opportunity to show the team’s character.”
While Kansas continues to find success on the field, players and organizers say building relationships off the field is just as important. The partnership with The Good Game has helped strengthen that connection, with both sides hoping to expand opportunities in the future.
“I think we have a great relationship,” Owens continued. “[The Good Game does] a lot for us, and hopefully we can keep doing events like this to get more kids out here and more people involved with the program.”
The Good Game is continuing to expand its reach as what began as a local business in Lawrence is now growing beyond the community.
