Students experience campus bus troubles, show up to class late

While on-campus buses are a popular form of transportation for KU students, students frequently experience delays and difficulties, showing up late to class as a result.

“They have been really crowded and they show up late a lot of the time, I feel like,” said student Isaac McCalla. “I have missed a couple of classes because they have shown up late.”

Freshman student Maddy Rodriguez says that the buses can be especially packed during severe weather.

 “It’s just like on cold days, you just kind of have to suck it up and stand there and be squished with everyone,” Rodriguez said.

Many freshmen rely on the buses, making it difficult for them to get to and from the dorms during popular class times. 

 “At certain times of the day they seem more crowded,” said freshman Penelope Sorio.“Sometimes, I have trouble getting back on a bus to get back to the dorms.”

Until changes are made, students say that they will find other ways to get to campus and make it to class on time. The bus routes and schedules are posted on the KU Transportation website.
