University of Kansas breaks ground on new Entrepreneurship Hub

The University of Kansas is taking a major step towards expanding student innovation with construction on its new Entrepreneurship Hub set to begin this summer.
The School of Business marked the milestone with a ceremonial groundbreaking event this past Friday, bringing together faculty, students, and community members to celebrate the future of entrepreneurship on campus.
The Entrepreneurship Hub will serve as a central space for aspiring founders and innovators, offering opportunities for students across disciplines to develop and grow their ideas. It is located at 1420 Crescent Road, where McClain’s Bakery used to be.
According to Brian Anderson, executive director of entrepreneurship initiatives, the hub is designed to foster collaboration and creativity among students.
“It starts with an idea, it starts with a spark,” Anderson said. “That spark flourishes when you bring people together with different perspectives.”
The project is expected to be completed by fall 2027, with classes scheduled to begin in the space in spring 2028.
